Yes, learning the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting and applying what you taste to course theory, is an important part of the WSET Level 1 in Wine Online Course.
At the start of the course, your online instructor will provide a list of recommended wine styles.
Although there are WSET wine kits (tiny wine bottles) on the market, for higher quality samples, we recommend purchasing full or half bottles and enjoying the remainder.

In WSET Level 1 in Wine, you will study how grape variety, growing region, and winemaking decisions shape a wine’s quality and style.
With the guidance of your educator, you will also use the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting to develop your wine tasting skills.

The WSET Level 1 in Wine Online Course includes 5 modules studied over 4 weeks.
Learning is self-paced, so you can join your course at anytime and work through the activities on your own schedule. Although the active course is completed after 4 weeks, you will continue to have access to the rest of the course for one year.

Your course tuition includes your downloadable course workbook, An Introduction to Wine as well as your exam fee, WSET Level 1 in Wine Certificate, and Badge.

The WSET Level 1 in Wine exam is taken online under exam conditions and you will answer 30-multiple-choice questions within 45-minutes.
Exams must be ordered at least 2 weeks in advance and are offered on the first Sunday of every month (or by appointment).
A score of 70% or higher is required to achieve a Pass.
