The WSET Level 2 in Beer Course is organized by key style influences, covering factors such as: base ingredients, the malting process, hops, yeast, and specialty beer styles. Students will explore the impact of these ingredients and methods both theoretically and then through tasting using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.

The WSET Level 2 in Beer Exam is a one-hour, closed book test of 50-multiple choice questions. Students can pass the exam at 3 levels:
Pass: a score of 55% or higher
Pass with Merit: a score of 70% to 84%
Pass with Distinction: a score of 85% or higher
In addition to your time in class, you should plan on 11 hours of private study time to prepare for the class and the exam.
Your exam is offered on the last day of class.

The WSET Level 2 in Beer Online Course is ideal for the self-directed student who wants a structured, but flexible way to expand their knowledge of beer.

The WSET Level 2 in Beer Course is self-paced, which means you can log into your studies on your own schedule. Learning is organized in 6 modules released over 5 weeks. Your WSET Tutor will guide your learning for the 5 week course and after course end, you will continue to have access to the course platform for 1 year.

Yes! Tasting beer — using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting — is an important part of your studies.
At the beginning of your course, your instructor will provide you with a recommended list of styles to acquire.

At registration you’ll receive the WSET Level 2 in Wine Beer Study Pack (Beer: Looking Behind the Label textbook, study guide, and Systematic Approach to Tasting Card). Your registration also includes certification exam, WSET Level 2 in Beer Certificate, and badge.

The WSET Level 2 in Beer exam is taken online after the end of class. Exams are offered the 1st Sunday of every month (or by appointment) and must be ordered in advance. The one-hour, closed book exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions.
Successful students will be awarded a Pass (55% or higher), a Pass with Merit (70% to 84%), or a Pass with Distinction (85% or higher).
